Supporting Corporate Racial and Gender Pay Equity

Pay inequity persists across race and gender. No industries or geographies are exempt. In the US, Black workers’ median earnings represent 81% of white wages. Women’s earnings represent 83% of men’s earnings. At the current rate of change, women will not reach pay parity until 2059, while Black women will have to wait until 2130, and Latina women until 2224.

This session will discuss how we can harness transparency and accountability. Through clearer disclosures and measurements of pay inequities, investors can powerfully advocate for a more inclusive economy.

Speakers:

  • Daniel Gould, Vice President, Finance & Investments, Marguerite Casey Foundation

About the Series:

Knowing what you own and utilizing your shareholder rights can translate into real-world changes in those companies, creating ripples that can influence new corporate standards, practices, and supply chains -- helping shift how companies—or even whole industries—manage social and environmental risks. Active owners, or engaged shareholders, do this by exercising their power to proxy voting, by filing shareholder proposals, and through corporate advocacy and engagements.

Please join us for a series of member-only (virtual) coffee klatch discussions on the exciting shareholder campaigns taking place in our community. Together we will strategize how we can engage on the issues that matter most to us.
