Scott Onder, Chief Investment Officer, Mercy Corps

Scott Onder is the Chief Investment Officer of Mercy Corps, where he leads the agency’s global strategy for impact investing, innovative finance, web3 initiatives, and strategic partnerships with technology ventures.
Scott is also the Co-Founder and Senior Managing Director of Mercy Corps Ventures (MCV), the impact venture capital arm of Mercy Corps, which invests in high-impact startups developing climate tech, regenerative agriculture, and inclusive fintech solutions in frontier markets. Scott has made equity investments in over 50 seed and early-stage ventures that have positively impacted more than 25 million people across Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia. In addition to capital, MCV provides strategic support, pilots, and partnership opportunities to help ventures scale.
Scott is an early investor in Wasoko, Pula, and Floodbase, and is on the boards of portfolio companies that drive climate adaptation and resilience. He is an active advisor and angel investor in web3 startups in emerging markets. He graduated magna cum laude from Duke University and is based in the Pacific Northwest.
