The Climate Solutions Collaborative

Confluence Philanthropy’s Climate Solutions Collaborative (C2C) is a membership network of foundations, family offices, and financial investors committed to deploying private and philanthropic capital to reduce emissions towards meeting the Paris Agreement’s 1.5oC goal. Confluence Philanthropy has endorsed the Net Zero Paris pathway, with an emphasis on immediate emissions reductions that provide social and environmental benefits, and encourages and supports our members, partners, and collaborators to implement science-based investment strategies accordingly.

Created in 2016 in partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy and policymakers under President Obama, C2C aims to bring market-based climate solutions to scale and to make the field of climate investing more effective.

Confluence Philanthropy Members Meeting Net Zero

Multiple science-based studies estimate the need for investment in climate solutions at triple the current capital allocations to meet the Net Zero by 2050 goal. According to Yale Climate Connections, 2021 saw $343 billion in weather disasters displacing a reported 55 million people globally. Such disasters have steadily increased over the past 70 years.  The constant increase in climate disasters makes it clear that we are running out of time to avoid the worst impacts of climate change. Avoiding climate chaos requires focusing on emissions reductions and using carbon offsets only when necessary, sparingly and with transparency.

C2C encourages values aligned investors to be at the forefront of the necessary economic and societal transformation by deploying disruptive capital, empowering communities, and advocating for policies to advance a just transition.

Confluence Philanthropy celebrates those members that stand at the vanguard of sustainability and net zero planning. As our community continues to make these visionary commitments Member organizations will be cited here.
